During the holidays, many businesses open their doors to their clients and neighbors to celebrate the season. This is also a great opportunity to market to business clients in attendance and boost your community relations strategy. To do this, you must make a good impression on all who walk in the door.
We’ve compiled a few tips to help you make your holiday open house work for you:
Invite the neighbors. If your office is in a large office building or business park, invite your neighbors. Another way to find possible guests is to get in contact with your local chamber of commerce, as they may have members who are interested in your services. Promote your event on social media and other platforms. Be sure to send out invitations and have guests R.S.V.P. in order to arrange food and parking for everyone.
Feed the frenzy. Plan your menu based on the mood of your event. Typically, an open house is a casual event that finger foods, like crackers and cheese, best serve. But if you are planning on serving a full meal, set a time so your guests arrive hungry. Be sure to check with your guests about allergies and other dietary restrictions so that you can accommodate them, if need be.
Show your stuff. Everyone loves door prizes but if you want to give your guests a gift that lasts, offer a free demonstration or sample of your product or service. Even if you’re not giving a formal presentation, be sure to mingle with the guests and use your interactions as opportunities to market your business. Don’t forget to follow up with guests you speak to with a phone call, email, or thank you note.
With careful planning and the help of these tips, your holiday open house can be a great success.
