A Nonprofit Online Presence for All Seasons

Avatar of Pulse Marketing By Pulse Marketing

The holiday season is known as the most wonderful time of the year. For nonprofits, it really is, especially when it comes to online giving. With 1/3 of all online donations coming in during the month of December alone, managing your nonprofit’s online presence is more important during this time of year than any other.

Here are some tips to help you make the most of this season’s giving:

Be the Early Bird. Stores begin holiday sales and promotions well before Halloween. Follow this example by beginning to plan and promote your organization’s holiday campaign months in advance. As the old saying goes, “the early bird catches the worm” and you want to be the early bird.

Be where the people are. Use your social media profiles, blogs, and emails to reach as many donors as you can and find new ones. Set up online donation options and make sure that all of your content is mobile-friendly. People will be using their mobile devices and social media now more than any other time of the year to keep track of the deals and festivities with 71% of consumers’ purchases being influenced by social media.

Give back. People are driven by incentives, even when giving to charity. By giving donors a gift for their donation, or partnering with their favorite stores and creating special offers, you will be motivating your donors to give and give even more. Selling goods or services through fundraisers are also ways to motivate giving in return for a gift.
