4 Ways to Show Customer Appreciation

Avatar of Pulse Marketing By Pulse Marketing

There are plenty of examples of businesses going above and beyond to make their customers feel special—mostly because when this happens, the results go viral. Customers love feeling appreciated, and when they are hit with a random act of kindness, they are more willing to spread the word. While businesses should always be appreciative of their customers, it’s not always easy to show it. Here are 4 easy ways that you can show customer appreciation to your most loyal patrons.

Send a thank you note.

This “old-fashioned” gesture can still impact today’s customers. It doesn’t have to be long or fancy, but just a simple note to thank them for their patronage will go a long way. Handwritten notes are best, but if you don’t have access to your customers’ mailing addresses then email will work as well.

Offer special access to products and services.

Another way to show customer appreciation is to give your most loyal followers access to special sales or news of product releases. Ask if they want to be one of the first to try out a new product, let them in on a deal a day before it is announced, or give them free expedited shipping on their next purchase. These tactics are easy ways to say thank you and will also encourage them to make a purchase.

Give a “just because” gift.

If your budget allows you to give more than just a sneak peek on a new product, go a step further and give your top customers a free gift. This could be a gift card to your store, one of your products, or it could be gift unrelated to your brand. This proves that you are not just showing appreciation to try to gain their business—you are truly thanking them with no strings attached.

Listen to them.

One of the best things you can do to show appreciation for your customers is to simply listen to their feedback. Your customers have a great advantage over you because they can see your company like you can’t—without bias. Listen to their ideas about new product offerings, how they like to receive your communications, and more. When they see their ideas put in action, it will reinforce their trust and loyalty to your company.

Solidify a positive relationship with your valued customers by showing appreciation for their patronage. Although your customer appreciation method may take a little time and/or money, it’s a small price to pay to leave a lasting brand impression on your customers.
