Bangor Federal Credit Union started simply sixty years ago. It was at St. John’s Catholic Church that they were founded – a group of people dedicated to helping church members live their daily lives. The members of the church pooled their money and started a lending system that would allow others to realize their dream of owning something – whether that be a car, a house, or something else entirely.
They were a modest operation, but their intent was what mattered most: help those in need of financial assistance – those who weren’t able to find it elsewhere.
Today, that intent hasn’t changed.
Bangor Federal now operates in three locations – 339 Hogan Road and 10 Venture Way in Bangor, and 6 Dirigo Drive in Brewer. Their mission endures: to provide a sound, professional, friendly, personalized, and competitive alternative resource for the financial services that meet the needs of their members.
Membership with Bangor Federal is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in and businesses and other legal entities located in Penobscot, Hancock, and Waldo Counties in Maine.
Part of what makes Bangor Federal so incredible to work with is their commitment to their clients. We have always made it our goal to show this commitment through the marketing we do for them. Our relationship was built on helping Bangor Federal connect with the community, tell their story and let their offerings be known.
We started our relationship with Bangor Federal in 2014. Our first campaign was called “Freedom to Live Better” and highlighted their lifestyle loan and lifestyle line of credit options.
We encouraged the public to take advantage of Bangor Federal’s options for their wintertime needs, such as fuel assistance, a new heat pump, a damaged vehicle, or a leaky roof. We capitalized on their 100 percent online application, which allows for easy and secure service.
We also created materials targeting college students and educating them about Bangor Federal’s personalized debt and credit management education. We continued to reach out to a younger audience by taking over Bangor Federal’s social media accounts. We created a lively Facebook contest to generate interest in the credit union while also offering the chance to win fun prizes. This summer giveaway brought Bangor Federal new fans, increased their exposure, and gave the credit union the opportunity to give back to community members.
We’ve conducted market research for Bangor Federal, and created catchy taglines for additional campaigns, like their “Full Circle Checking” and “Go from FEE to FREE” initiatives.
Our graphic designers made our content and ideas come to life, and helped us spread Bangor Federal’s message, which we always knew was simple and grounded in their original purpose – provide an alternative resource for the financial services that everyone needs.
